Ethical Principles and Evaluation Process

Ethical Principles and Evaluation Process

Due to the publication criteria, ethics committee approval must be obtained for the articles submitted to the journal. Ethics committee approval for the research should be proven and documented both in the publication and also during the publication submission process. For studies deemed suitable for publication (if necessary), a statement of contribution rate, a statement of appreciation and a statement of conflict should be prepared and sent.

Journal of Business and Communication Studies (JOBACS), terms and rules regarding the acceptance and publication process of authors' research: has been determined according to ethical publishing standards published by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), Open Access Scholarly Publishers Association (OASPA) and Üniversiteler Arası Kurul (ÜAK).

Authors

The studies submitted to the journal with the request for publication must be authentic. Authenticity assessment is checked by software that checks the plagiarism rate. If the plagiarism rate of the work is over 15%, it will not be accepted into the review process. This rule is deemed to have been accepted by all authors who submit their work to the journal.

In studies with the participation of more than one researcher, it is against the publication rules to remove the name of a contributing researcher who can be interpreted as an author, and vice versa. Since the names of the authors who contributed to the research should be included within the framework of ethical rules, the author(s) should consider their ethical responsibilities in the studies sent for evaluation. In a study in which the evaluation process has begun, the request to change the name order can only be possible with the joint approval of all authors.

Authors should declare their support (financial relations) for the research to be carried out. The conditions of conflict and competition that may affect the results of the research or that may affect the evaluation should be declared by the authors.

As a basis for the acceptance of the work, the authors are expected to fill in the "Copyright Transfer Form". The authors should be in a listed form, confirm that the data and results of the research are not used and given in any publication other than JOBACS, that the study is not published in different languages, that the results obtained from this research are not artificially divided and used in other publications. In addition, this statement confirms that the data obtained in any way is used in the study by obtaining the necessary permissions. By signing the Copyright Transfer Form, the authors declare that all the rights under the copyright of the work have been transferred to the Journal of Business and Communication Studies (JOBACS).

Referees

There should be no conflict of interest between the reviewers and the authors or supporters of the research. Referee reviews should be impartial and objective. It is not necessary to be a referee on studies outside the areas of expertise. The confidentiality of all information about the authors and the study is the responsibility of the referees. In case of copyright infringement or plagiarism belonging to the authors and the work, this should be reported to the editor by the referee. Reviewers should not reveal their identities to authors during the review process. Studies should be reviewed and reported in a way that does not exceed the standard periods determined by the journal.

Editors and Field Editors

The editors and field editors are obliged to comply with the rules and standards determined by the institutions accepted by the journal. Editors must decide which of the submitted works will be published, the importance, validity and usefulness of the relevant work. At the same time, they are obliged to decide on the publication of the study according to the comments from the referees and legal obligations. Editors may refuse to submit the work for peer-review due to reasons such as plagiarism, lack of documentation, and exceeding the scope of the journal. Accepted studies have the initiative to send two referees who are experts in their field. Editors do not make selections based on the demographic and/or political views of the authors. Correction decisions regarding the studies are made only in line with the decisions taken by the journal boards. Editors are responsible for keeping information about the work and authors. Relevant information cannot be shared by third parties.

Publication Principles

Submitted works must not have been previously published or accepted anywhere. If the studies consist of congress, symposium paper, project or thesis results before the submission date, they should be specified and the content should be expanded and converted into publication. Submitted works are primarily evaluated by the editors. After testing the compliance with the publication principles of the journal, the manuscript sent to two referees who are competent in the field is expected to be evaluated. During the evaluation process, the information of both the referees and the authors is hidden. It has been decided that the writing languages of the journal will be Turkish and English. The plagiarism report of the submitted article should be sent to the editor. At the same time, the authors must sign the "Copyright Transfer Form" and send it to the editor for the works deemed appropriate to be included in the journal. The journal is published twice a year in June and December.

Each step of our evaluation process has been determined transparently and the minimum and maximum intervals of these stages have been estimated as follows.

(In case of revision, in addition to the periods above, a re-evaluation process will be initiated)
